Roundtable Forum on Emerging Technology Industry is held in Beijing on September 16, 2022.

Zhang Yuzhuo, secretary of the leading Party Members Group, vice president in charge of daily work and chief executive secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), attended the forum and delivered a speech.

Jia Fuxing, secretary of the Party Committee and president of the China Association for Quality (CAQ), Yuan Jie, secretary of the leading Party members Group and president of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited (CASIC), Ge Shirong, academician of the China Academy of Engineering (CAE) and president of the China University of Mining and Technology -- Beijing, Shan Zhongde, academician of the CAE and president of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), Yang Mengfei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and researcher of the China Academy of Space Technology (CASC), and other experts attended the forum.

Wang Jinzhan, member of the leading Party members Group and executive secretary of the Secretariat of CAST, presided over the forum.

In his speech, Zhang Yuzhuo pointed out that President Xi Jinping stressed the need to improve a new system for mobilizing the resources nationwide to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields and speed up to solve “bottleneck” technical problems.

Focusing on the country's most fundamental interests and endeavors, CAST has created a high-end dialogue platform to promote cross-border intellectual integration and gather the wisdom of scientists, entrepreneurs and industry experts to promote quality-oriented development and achieve the goal of sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening at higher levels, concluded Zhang.

With the theme of "Intelligent manufacturing · CNC machine tools", the forum aims to carry out dialogue between scientists and entrepreneurs on emerging technologies and industrial needs.

Experts from China University of Mining and Technology -- Beijing, the NUAA, the CASC, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), the BIT, the CAQ, the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association (CMTBA), the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), and entrepreneurs from the CASIC, the Gree Electric Appliances of Zhuhai, Xiaomi Corporation, BDStar Navigation, Beijing Jingdiao Group, Wuhan Fenjin Intelligent Machine Co., LTD and Xiehui Zhilian Technology (Beijing) Co., LTD participated in the forum.

The forum is sponsored by the National Academy of Innovation Strategy (NAIS) of CAST and expected to be held on schedule to create a sustainable mechanism to invite scientists, entrepreneurs and industrial experts to conduct cross-border dialogues on hot topics at the moment.
